Testimonial

"As a grant writer, Tom Hollon showed a particular ability to gather information through research and interviews, and to present a clear, logical and coherent case. He was able to work on a very tight deadline and was flexible in scheduling. The grant was funded for $2 million. We are looking forward to using his services again."

Is your company looking for grant funding?

Or was your last grant application not funded—maybe not even scored—because reviewers never understood the importance of your work?

I can help.

This is Tom Hollon. As a scientist turned science writer, I can help
you create a grant application that describes your research plan
clearly and effectively.

Not only that, I can help you spot weaknesses in your arguments
reviewers will nail you for if they're not fixed.

Here are the kinds of NIH and other grants I can edit or help you write:

  • NIH Grants: R01, Training, Conference, Center, Program Project, SPORE
  • NIH SBIR Grant and NIH STTR Grant Phases 1, 2, and Fasttrack
  • Gates Foundation Global Health Grants
  • CME Grants from Pharmaceutical Companies
  • DOD CDMRP (Congressionally-Directed Medical Research Program) Grants
  • DOD SBIR Medical Grants
  • HHMI Grants for Science Education
  • HHMI Research Grants for Individuals

Other ways I can help include:

  • Anticipating Reviewers’ Objections. I can alert you things in your grant’s research plan reviewers may not understand and review criteria your research plan has overlooked.

  • Summary Statement Analysis.  If your last grant application was rejected and your Summary Statement doesn’t explain why, I can help you read between the lines and figure out what the reviewers didn’t like.

  • Multi-Investigator Grants. I can edit research plans from different investigators to give them one voice. I can also relieve some of the deadline pressure by writing non-technical grant application sections, leaving you and your colleagues more time to write research plans.

  • Identifying Funding Opportunities. I can locate NIH and other biomedical grant sources and program announcements for which you may qualify.

In short: I can make it easier for you to secure the grant money you need.

$2000 NO-RISK TRIAL GUARANTEE

What happens if you don't like my work?

So many factors that influence grant success are outside my control that I cannot guarantee your grant application will be funded. No consultant can guarantee that.

What I can do is offer you a no-risk way to give me a try.

TRIAL GUARANTEE: If for any reason you don't like the grant editing
writing or writing I give you by the time my charges reach $2000, you
can walk away and owe me nothing. Not one penny. But if you are
satisfied up that point, then you agree to pay my full charges for
the entire project.
